ABBOTT CEO DISCUSSES INVESTMENT IN CHINA

Abbott Chairman and CEO Miles White was in Beijing on Nov. 11, 2014, to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit. The gathering of approximately 1,500 APEC economic leaders aims to advance regional economic integration and encourage growth through investments in infrastructure, commitments to meaningful economic reform, and increased business cooperation.

While attending the summit, White appeared on China Central Television 4 (CCTV4) to discuss economic development in the Asia-Pacific region, China’s role in driving economic growth, and Abbott’s continued investments in China in the R&D, dairy, nutrition and manufacturing sectors.

The APEC CEO Summit is part of the larger Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, which brings together world leaders from the Asia-Pacific region. This year marks the 25th anniversary of APEC, the world's largest regional economic group, consisting of 21 diverse economies that ring the Pacific and work together to boost economic growth and prosperity by advancing free and open trade.
